Where Can I Get the Best Coffee?

June 7, 2019

| Cylie Miller & Kailyn Scott

If you aren’t addicted to coffee yet, just wait until you’re half asleep in your 7:30am class or have to make it through a long work day at your summer internship. Although your order of a double shot of espresso with foam may never change, the place you order from might. Here are some of the best places around campus to get a fresh cup of coffee!

Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co.

With hours starting at 7 am, Greyhouse Coffee wakes up as early as you do. Greyhouse was started and is owned by Purdue’s Campus House. From french-pressed coffee and espresso drinks, to a variety of sweet treats, Greyhouse is the perfect place to start your morning off. Whether you’re on your way to class or running late to work, this cafe is a great option for your caffeine needs!

Starbucks

Okay…who doesn’t love Starbucks?? Located in Third Street Suites, PMU, and EE, Starbucks is just around the corner from wherever you are on campus! With cold brew, iced coffee, refreshers and frappuccinos, there is a drink for everyone. Starbucks also serves breakfast, bakery sweets, and protein boxes to keep you fueled for the day. So crack open your laptop and start your morning with Starbucks! Just be careful not to get stuck in the 12:00pm lunch rush 😉 !

Vienna Coffee House & Bakery

Ever been to a coffee shop that delivers? Vienna Coffee House & Bakery does! Delivery hours range from 6:00pm-12:00am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, while regular store hours start at 8:00am on Monday through Sunday. Vienna offers a variety of coffee drinks, including their “Coffee of the Day” option. Feeling extra sluggish and tired? They also offer coffee refills and bottomless coffee! Want something else along with your order? Some of Vienna’s most popular items are the Charlie Parker Sandwich, the Roast Beef & Swiss Sandwich, the Chicken Cashew Curry Sandwich, and their fruit smoothies!

Fuel

If you love coffee that is a bit more unique than a typical latte, then Fuel is the place for you. Don’t fear though, Fuel still features standard espresso drinks, but if you’re wanting to add an extra spark to your day, then consider making Fuel your go-to cafe! We recommend trying out the Bananas Foster Latte ;). Fuel also features a full breakfast, lunch, and dessert menu, all created by a chef with 20 years of culinary experience! Fuel is located conveniently across from the EE building, so if you’re nearby, check it out!

Copper Moon

If you’re looking for a cafe that’s not as commonly known as others on campus, try out Copper Moon! This cafe is located in the Burton D. Morgan building and opens bright and early at 7:30am. Order online for quick pick-up or stop in to grab a drink and a snack before you head to class! Any chance you’ve hopped on the cold brew trend? We recommend trying out Copper Moon’s draft cold brew, nitro cold brew, or cold brew lemonade!

Star City Coffee & Ale House

We all know that one person who’s obsessed with Nutella… and if you happen to be that person, you need Star City’s Nutella latte in your life. Located just across the bridge near RedSeven, Star City Coffee & Ale House is the perfect place to cozy up with a hot drink. While this cafe is a bit off campus, if you find yourself there, be sure to use your Bananefits for some great discounts on your next order if you live with Granite :).

Summer is the perfect time to try out a new coffee shop around campus because you can avoid the rush and long lines. Order your favorite drink or take some time to branch out and try something new. If you’re a coffee lover, be sure to let us know about your favorite cafe or drink that you’ve discovered since being at Purdue!
