Ahhh the sun is shining, the weather is beautiful, and school is out! After the long school year of studying and homework, you deserve some fun in the good ole’ Bloomington. But, what is there to do besides hit the library or the dining courts? Well, let me help you out!
Day trip to Brown County
One of the best things about Bloomington’s location is that you are so close to a great state park, Brown County. You can hike, bike, or just enjoy the views. You can even rent a cabin to spend a whole weekend in nature. Get more information here.
Baseball game
School may be out, but baseball season is in full swing. You can watch your own Hoosiers or head on to Indianapolis to watch the Indians. Either way, you will be able to enjoy America’s favorite pastime all summer long. You can find schedules here and here.
If you have reached the prime age of 21, you will finally be able to enjoy Kilroy’s on Kirkwood’s outdoor patio without wearing a winter coat. The patio is perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch or a night out under the stars.
Farmers’ Market
The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market is open on Saturdays and Tuesdays. Discover local finds from farmers and vendors to get the freshest and best products Btown has to offer. Enjoy the local cuisine and feel good about supporting small businesses and farms.
Take a class
Sure the last thing you want to do while on summer vacation is worry about more school, but hear me out. Maybe you want to get ahead on your classes so you can take more fun classes, or have a lighter workload during the school year. You could also try to boost your grade on a class you did not do too hot on during the school year. Plus, with taking just one or two classes, you will feel less stressed than when you have a full course load.
It may be sad when all your friends leave for the summer, but you can be sure to stay busy in Bloomington. Enjoy the sun and fun in Btown!
